signs of spring

Hi friends.  The temperature has finally gotten warm enough for the flowers to start blooming. Other than a few puffy yellow things, these beauties are opening.

winging it

Hi friends.  I've been on Pinterest... I could probably just leave that statement and most of you would conjure an image in your minds of hours and hours going from board to board... image to image... site.... et al.  I have quite a few boards and lots of images pinned.  Recently I was looking at Irish crochet - some really beautiful lace... beyond the little flowers and doilies... gorgeous dresses!  I don't think I'd have either the time or patience to create any of the larger projects.  I'm not even sure about most of the smaller ones.  I did, however, find an image (without instructions, of course!) that I thought I might be able to figure out just from the picture, so I printed it out. 

Going back to Pinterest, I realized that I neglected to pin it, and now I can't locate it, so I don't know where the credit belongs.  I took a photo of the printout, so you can see what I'm working with. 

I was at my monthly lace guild meeting yesterday, so I started working on it.  Here is what I've done so far. 

I don't know how it will turn out, because I really am winging it.  At this point, I'm not at all confident of the end result.  Hopefully, I'll be able to come back soon with a beautiful finished flower that at least resembles the original.  (Oh, the safety pin is how I keep my crochet from unraveling when I'm not working on it.)

crochet flowers

Hi friends.  I've had requests for my crochet flowers, so I'm just putting up a quick post with pictures.

They are in packages of 8 assorted colors.  Flowers are made with size 10 crochet cotton in both single colors and variegated thread.  Each flower is approximately 1-1/2" across.  Size may vary slightly depending on the brand of thread used.

If you are interested in purchasing any, please email me privately (email in sidebar).  Packages of 8 assorted colors are $3.50 per package (no color choice).  If you want specific individual colors, they are $.50 each and dependent on if I have the requested thread colors.  Shipping is additional.  I accept Paypal and ship only in the U.S.  I hope to have some additional sizes/styles soon.
