I'm back! I guess I've been on a creative streak today. Gotta take 'em when you can. When I checked the inspiration challenge on SCS, the center sample that was given just jumped out at me and I had to make a card. I just love the color combination, so it was an easy one. And I used a simple layout that is an old standby that I've used many times.
This piece of designer paper was sitting on my table, so it was perfect. I just backed it with black on a pink passion card base. The flower is Hero Arts. I colored the center with markers and the petals with a sponge, pink passion and tangerine tango ink.
The leaves were cut freehand with deckle scissors. Then I folded them in half and again at an angle a few times and then used a sponge dauber and artichoke ink to highlight the folds and around the edges. I would have used my crimper, but I was too lazy to go get it from the another room. I like the way these turned out. I popped up the flower with dimensional tape.
The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations, one of my most used SU sets.
Thanks for stopping by.

OOOO! What bright and cheery colors! You are on a creative roll!
Wow I love the card... Could you possibly do a tutorial on how you folded the leaves? I love them :)
What a great card, Melody. Love the deckled leaf edges...it really gives them a great realistic look.
