origami

Happy October, my friends.  September swished by so fast, I feel like I'm spinning.  We had frost on the ground this morning, so I guess fall is officially here.

My card today is a bit different than normal.  It's called an origami diamond fold and starts with an 11" square.  Most directions (this one has a video) are given for a square card.  But since I prefer A2 cards (or close to that), I kinda went out on a limb with my folds, and ended up with a card that is actually 5" x 4-1/4".  This also made the top flap shorter, so I made the additional front pieces larger, so there was a deeper pocket for the flap to tuck into.

This was a first use of two of my Spellbinders dies - lotus pendant and tear drop circles.  The largest circle on the front was colored using wrinkle free distress technique with wild honey, rusty hinge and shabby shutters distress inks and edged with vintage photo.

The sentiments are SU.  I used a corner chomper to round the corners on the inside sentiment piece.

I forgot to take a picture of the right inside flap, but my camera battery died.  It hasn't been holding a charge very well, so I guess I need to get a new one.

This card is for a October challenge on the Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium yahoo group.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope your week is wonder-filled.
