More Hope challenge cards

Hi, my friends. Just a quick post to show you a couple more of the cards I've done for the Hope challenges on SCS. The little dress is for a challenge called Thank Heaven for Little Girds, and the other is Vintage Style. I used a pattern for the dress that I had made some time ago and kept the card very simple. The flower was inspired by flowers seen here. Gorgeous card! Here is a link to a video that shows how to make them. I worked many hours on the 2nd card. Although I love the look, I don't make vintage style cards very often, because that style does not come easy for me. I used labels six nestabilities (spellbinders) and a new die that I bought at a stamp expo this past weekend from Heartfelt Creations. The die as made by spellbinders. It's part of a set that includes a butterfly (of course) and a border. And the stamp is from my all time most favorite stamp set from SU called Natural Beauty.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

paper tole

I finally managed to make a card using the new set included with the Love You Much Bundle, which includes the Love You Much stamp set, Candy Lane Designer Paper and Heart to Heart punch, a retail value of $51.85, but only $41.48 (plus shipping and tax), a 20% savings when purchased as a bundle by January 31, 2009. See this link for details: Love You Much Bundle.

I made this card for the holiday challenge extravaganza - simple tole - on splitcoast today. The heart was stamped three times, colored and layered with dimensional tape between the layers. Piercing was done using an Onare piercing template and the flower is from a stem of silk flowers. I can't remember at which store I found it.

stamps: love you much
ink: jet black stazon, pink passion, pixie pink
paper: pink passion, pixie pink, very vanilla, basic black
other: onare piercing template, piercing tool, silk flower, white brad

Stained glass window

Hello. Today's inspiration challenge on splitcoast was some stained glass windows by Frank Lloyd Wright. I knew right away what image I was going to use. I recently purchased several stamps from Rubbernecker that are stained glass images. I knew the desert cactus was perfect.

I stamped the image on Georgia Pacific white card stock with adirondack pitch black ink and colored it with copic markers. Since the shading on stained glass pieces is done by different colors of glass, coloring the image was quite easy. After it was all colored, I simply coated the entire image with versamark and clear embossing powder and heated it, so it really does look like stained glass. I cut out the image and layered it on black and rust. And I really felt that it needed no other embellishment.

Supplies
stamps: desert cactus (Rubbernecker)
ink: adirondack pitch black, copic markers, versamark
paper: Georgia Pacific white (Walmart), basic black, really rust
other: clear embossing powder, heat gun.

Thanks for stopping by today.

almost naked

Hi everybody. I was busy stamping this weekend. Over on splitcoast it was VSN (virtual stamp night), although over time it has grown into a weekend rather than just one night. It's a ton of fun and is fast paced. There were a total of 19 challenges. I managed to get 10 of them done. If I was more motivated, there is still time to get one or two more done before the upload deadline of 11 pm Eastern time. But, I'm satisfied with what I did accomplish. I actually did one more card this weekend for Saturday's inspiration challenge. That's the one I'm going to show you tonight. The inspiration photos showed some bedding, which I really wasn't crazy about, so I took my inspiration from a flower on top of the headboard. Since the wall behind it was bare, I decided to leave my card free of any background or extra layers of card stock.

The vase and flower are made with paper tole. The image was colored with markers and I added a line at the base of the vase, so it didn't seem to be floating. The hardest part of this card was cutting out the tiny flower and leaf.

Supplies:
stamps: vases in vogue (SU)
ink: jet black stazon, real red, glorious green, & yoyo yellow markers
paper: whisper white
other: mounting tape

I'm so glad you stopped by. I hope you have a great week.

Hey, Ewe!

Today's technique challenge on Splitcoast was to use paper tole, but not with flowers. So I decided to use this adorable sheep from Cornish Heritage Farms. I just love the facial expression.

I stamped the sheep 4 times with black stazon. Three of those were cut out in various parts. I cut out the entire sheep, the body without the legs, and just the head. All the images were colored with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Then they are layered on top of each other with mounting tape in between the layers for dimension. I layered the vanilla panel on black and celery, which was cut and embossed with my nestabilties scalloped rectangle in my cuttlebug. This is the first time I've used the nesties for embossing and I like how it looks. I also added some metallic rub-ons around the embossed edge. I added some faux stitching in celery around the image panel.

For the background, I wanted some grass and sky, but didn't want to cover the whole card. So I just cut a couple of strips of dp and freehanded some wavy edges. After gluing down the blue strip, I stamped the little flowers from simply said in always artichoke. I colored a few of them with blue marker and then colored all of them with white gel pen. The blue bleeds through a little making them a pale blue. Then I glued the green strip on and added faux stitching on both pieces with white gel pen.

I punched a hole in the image panel with my crop-a-dile and added some ribbon. The image panel is popped up. The sentiment is hand-written.

Supplies:
stamps: simply said (SU), sheep (CHF)
ink: jet black stazon, always artichoke, certainly celery, brilliant blue
paper: river rock, certainly celery, basic black, very vanilla, dp (Michael's stack)
other: cuttlebug, nestabilities (Spellbinders), white gel pen, ribbon (Jacksonbelle Embellishments), mounting tape, metallic rub-ons (Craf-T Products, Inc.)

I'm so glad you stopped by. Have a wonderful week.
