wish

Hi my friends. Today I worked on a card for the technique challenge on SCS. A very different technique called WISH -- or watermark, ink, spray & hold. I've also heard it called ink, spray & smash. First you stamp your cardstock, then you scribble markers on a transparency that has been creased and unfolded. Spritz one side with water and then smoosh the transparency back together to let the ink blend. Open it back up and set your card in the ink. I made several attempts before being satisfied with how it looked. In the process, I found out that versamark ink does not easily wash off the transparency and then will resist the marker ink, so it was best to use each transparency sheet just once.

I started by stamping three ferns (hero arts) with versamark on white cardstock. Then I used orange, rust and chocolate ink on the transparency. I like the result the technique gave me.

The sentiment (inkadinkado) is stamped in chocolate chip ink. I distressed the edges of the top two layers.

I was going to mount on rust or chocolate, but decided I needed a pop of another color, so I added some turquoise on the butterfly and used a card base of cool caribbean. The butterfly matches a SU punch -- easy. I stamped the butterfly body on the card and then glued the butterfly over that and used a marker to add the body on the butterfly, but then I ended up covering it with a jewel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a great week.

I love the look of the ferns on your card, and you know I love the touch of color that your butterfly added!
