Happy Birthday

to me! Yes, I was born on this date many years ago. Actually, I was a Mother's day baby, so my birthday lands on Mother's day every once in awhile. We also celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary this week. Nothing like crowding them all into one week. We are going out to dinner with my husband's family and he's making me wait for my gifts.

I worked outside digging a bit in the garden this morning until I got rained out. So then I came back in and sat down to stamp. I made a card for the inspiration challenge on SCS. As I was checking out the selected site, this piece called shiny floral just jumped out at me. Uhmmm, it's BLUE! 'Nuf said.

I pulled out a very old SU set called Morning Soft and stamped the flowers on white with paris dusk memento ink and then colored with copic markers. I added a bit of white gel pen in the centers of the flowers. I die cut the image with a Sizzix circle die and sponged brilliant blue around the edge.

For the background, I die cut turquoise cardstock with a flourish Sizzix die and then sponged the edges with brilliant blue and arranged the pieces around the black card base and glued them down.

I used dimensional tape to adhere the circle, trimmed off the excess and sponged the open edge.

Then I used a white gel pen to add some dots and hightlights around the flourishes. I really like how that brightened up the background. I love this card.

Thanks for stopping by today. Help me celebrate and have a piece of cake!
