A fine wine

Well, hello my friends.  It has been quite awhile since I've posted.  Last week was fan club appreciation week at SCS, with challenges every day for fan club members only.  It's always a fun time, so I wanted to participate and do all the challenges if I could -- 37 total!  Part of the fun is that there are prizes awarded if you participate, and some special drawings for those who complete them all with a separate card for each of the challenges.  That was my goal and I'm happy to say that I did it.

There were a few moments of panic, however, when I couldn't get my computer to boot up on Sunday morning.  The deadline for uploading the cards was Monday night at midnight.  I still had five cards to complete.  Since I'd worked so hard to get them all done, I really wanted to make the deadline.  I decided to continue to work on the cards and, if necessary, beg the use of someone else's computer, even if it meant driving over to my sister's house to use hers.  Fortunately, my husband had an extra laptop and was sweet enough to set it up for me with the programs that I needed.  I was able to get everything uploaded to the gallery in time to meet the deadline.

If you want to see my cards, they are all in my Splitcoaststampers gallery (link in sidebar).

Today is a good friend's birthday, and DH asked me for a card for him.  Since he appreciates fine wine, I decided to make a card shaped like a wine bottle.  I made a pattern that would fit a business size envelope.  I had DH print a saying for the inside that said, "Like a fine wine, you just get better with age."

For the front, I used a grapes stained glass stamp from Rubbernecker and colored it with copic markers.  I needed to round the corners to make it fit on the bottle.  I think it turned out great and I know our friend will love it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you're having a great week.
