Hi friends. One of my favorite activities is making quilts. The best kind are scrap quilts that use lots and lots of different fabrics. I love putting all the different prints together and creating something not only beautiful, but also useful and comforting. And I love sleeping under a quilt.
Gina K had a new stamp release on Thursday, and of course, there is always a challenge with a randomly drawn winner. And who doesn't like a chance to win something?
For this challenge, the only stamps we could use were word stamps. So I chose a sentiment from Nana's Needlework (Gina K).
For the background, I cut 1/2" strips of paper from a 6" pad of Basic Grey Indian Summer. All the other paper on the card is actually a light peach, but I sponged tangerine tango and ruby red ink on it, so it's pretty well disguised.
I used a die from the Lotus Borderabilities (Spellbinders) set for the horizontal strip and for the sentiment, a die from Apothecary Accents Framelits (SU/Sizzix). The sentiment piece is attached with dimensional tape.
I did a little faux stitching and also added some black pearl accents.
It's chilly enough today. I think I'll go work on a quilt.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend.

Your card highlights that sentiment PERFECTLY!
Plus, what a great layout for scraps!
