I have another Splitcoast VSN mini challenge card for you today. This challenge was to use faux silk. I decided to pull out a set I got recently and had not yet inked, pretty peony. I stamped the flowers on tissue paper in regal rose and rose red and the leaves in garden green, stamping off once on the first step of the leaves. Then I crumbled up the tissue and flattened it back out, but left some of the wrinkles. I glued it to a piece of vanilla card stock with antique decoupage glue. After letting it dry, I turned the edges over to the back and glued them. Then I sponged the edges with rose red ink, applied the ribbon and adhered this piece to the black card base.
For the sentiment, I stamped friends from a hostess set called make it count. I punched it out with my key tag punch and added to black large oval punches behind it for an accent. I sponged the two ends with rose red ink and attached this to the card with mounting tape.
Supplies:
stamps: pretty peony, make it count (SU)
ink: regal rose, rose red, garden green, basic black
paper: basic black, very vanilla, tissue paper
other: sponge, antique decoupage glue, ribbon, key tag punch, large oval punch
I'm so glad you stopped by. Have a wonderful evening.
