faux handmade paper

Happy Monday. Yes, it is. I have the house to myself and the sun is shining. And I stamped this morning. The technique challenge on SCS was to use acrylic paint and toilet paper (yes, you read that right) to make your own faux handmade paper. A fun, although a bit messy, technique. You basically dip tp in the paint and then dab it on your card stock. Click on the above link for more detailed directions.

I wanted to use some of my new SU stamps and in colors, so I tried to find some paint colors that matched. I didn't have anything with the exact colors, but some that were close enough. I made two different pieces. I only used one, so I have a second to use on another project.

I pulled out one of the new hostess sets called Kind & Caring Thoughts and used two of the flowers and a sentiment. The ink and solid color card stock is called bermuda bay, one of six new in colors. After stamping the two flowers, I used nestabilities ovals to cut it out, as well as some extra layers. The two in back are behind the cross strip, which was embossed with my Swiss dots embossing folder. The front panel is popped up.

Since the background is pretty bright, I didn't think the card needed much embellishment, so I just added a piece of ribbon and some brads and I was done.

What's in it?
stamps: kind & caring thoughts (SU)
ink: bermuda bay, always artichoke, jet black stazon
paper: basic black, whisper white, bermuda bay
other: acrylic paint, toilet paper, cuttlebug, cb Swiss dots embossing folder, nestabilities ovals (Spellbinders), black grosgrain ribbon, black brads, foam tape

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Be blessed.
