a fathers day card

Hi everyone. We are finally seeing some sunshine today. Although we've had a few peeks this week, we've had a lot of gray or rainy days.

We're going out for a father's day dinner tonight with my FIL, so I needed to make him a card. I checked the inspiration challenge on SCS and found something I could work with. This old type set tray reminded me of bricks, so I pulled out my brick wall stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms. I also wanted to use this new Hero Arts grass stamp that I got last month at the local stamp/scrap expo, and knew that I could combine the two.

Ink colors are more mustard, chocolate chip and cajun craze (a new SU color).

Card stock is more mustard, elegant eggplant and white. The sentiment is from Stampendous. That one has been in my stash for a long time. There's a little heart on it, but I didn't want that on this card, so I inked up the stamp and then cleaned the ink off the heart with a water brush. I did a lot of distressing on this card. It's been awhile since I've done that.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend.
