Hey, everyone. Are you glad the week is almost over? After several days of severe weather, including tornados in some nearby towns causing some major damage, we had a nice sunny day today.

Yesterday I spent the day at my sister's. I was planning on taking some stamping along, but at the last minute decided to take my quilting instead. Although I worked on my hexagons, I didn't get much done because I was helping her get a project completed for a friend. She was struggling with it and it always helps to have another person to bounce ideas around with.

She had just been on a cruise and had taken along a few stamping supplies to play with. There was a card she had started, but decided she didn't like how it was turning out, so she tossed it in the trash. Well, I couldn't resist -- the paper was so cool, I had to rescue it. I removed everything she had attached on the front and used it as the background for this card.

I trimmed the navy cardstock around the paper, so I could use naturals ivory as my card base. I still wanted a navy border, so I just used a sponge dauber and applied navy ink around the edges of both the paper and the card base.

Since the ways to use it challenge on SCS today was using heat embossing, I stamped the Hero Arts flower multiple times on shimmery white cardstock and embossed in gold. Then I used the reinker spread technique to add color - ruby red and more mustard. To do this technique, you mist the embossed image heavily with water and then use a water brush to add ink refill to the wet cardstock, allowing it to spread on the wet image. After allowing it to dry, you cut it out. I really love the results you get with this technique.

I arranged the flowers on the card with some glued directly to the card and some popped up with dimensional tape. I added some half pearls to the flower centers. The leaves are punched from old olive, with veins added and edges sponged with night of navy ink.
