a double challenge

Hey, my friends. Are you having a nice weekend? I decided to play the inspiration challenge on SCS this morning. I looked at it last night, but just couldn't get a card going. This morning, I did a little more checking at the pieces on the website, and finally found these egg cups to inspire me. I love the brown/black/white color combination.

I decided to use the oval shape, so I cut some ovals with nestabilities petite ovals (spellbinders) in rust, black and vanilla. Rather than just centering the layers of ovals, I decided to offset them a bit. The vanilla is just a bit smaller than the other two.

The leaves (wonderful you - SU) are stamped in black stazon, as is the sentiment (hero arts). The card base is confetti tan, sponged with cajun craze & chocolate chip.

The crochet trim and flowers are some that I made. I wanted to attach the trim with brads, but didn't want them showing on the inside of the card, so the black strip was added and I really like how that looks. The ovals are tucked behind the crochet trim. Since the crochet edging is scalloped, this card also fits the Friday challenge F4A31.

The flower is made up of two separate pieces. I wanted to use a small brad in the center, but the hole was just a tad too big, so I added a small punched black flower underneath the brad.

The fancy photo corners are made with a punch (ek success).

I haven't heard from the winner of my blog candy, so I let my son draw another name. The new winner is:

This is beautiful. I admire your handiwork with the crocheting. My grandmother did that and I have some, but of course I can't cut it up to use on cards. Though, would she mind? Jeanne
