My first card is a technique challenge using embossing resist. I stamped the leaves from Signs of Autumn (Gina K) in versamark ink and then embossed the image with clear ep. Then I sponged cherry cobbler ink over the image. The embossed areas resist the ink, leaving the image white. Then I very lightly dampened a paper towel and wiped over the embossed area to remove any excess ink.I die cut the image with labels eleven (spellbinders). To get a black layer underneath, I traced around the outside of the die and cut it out. I added dots with a white gel pen.
For the background, I brayered cherry cobbler ink on the inside the my houndstooth embossing folder and then embossed white card stock with it. I'm not sure why I didn't get more color, but it is what it is.
I punched some fancy photo corners and added some white dots. I popped up the image with dimensional tape.
My second card is a tent topper card. This challenge was a color challenge - kraft, chocolate & turquoise. I actually struggled with this card, because kraft is not one of my go to colors. In fact, I usually avoid it.
I stamped the butterfly (Take Flight - Gina K) on turquoise and cut it out.For the bottom part of the card, I stamped the flowers from Signs of Autumn (Gina K) in turquoise ink somewhat randomly on the turquoise cardstock and once on the kraft circle in chocolate chip ink. I added some turquoise ink with a sponge dauber on the flowers.
The sentiment from Take Flight is stamped in jet black stazon.
The circles are cut with Spellbinders classic & scalloped circle dies. To make sure my card will fit in an envelope, when I glue the circle on, I put a regular A2 card behind my card to keep the height correct.
I attached the butterfly with dimensional tape underneath the wings. Then I added some antenae and a flight path with a black marker.
