hello

Hi everyone.  This is my second post today.  I'm just striving to finish some monthly challenges for February before time has run out.

Another challenge at OWSE Yahoo group was to make something with wrinkle-free distress.  This is such a fun technique and I know I don't use it enough.  For my background, I used tea dye, dried marigold, and faded jeans distress inks.  I love how the colors blend to give additional colors.  My piece of card stock was longer than I needed, so I trimmed it to the size I wanted.

For the image, I used Field Flowers (SU), which is a two-step stamping set.  I stamped the stem in peeled paint distress ink, and the flowers in spiced marmalade for the base image & barn door for the detailed image.  I added some faux stitching in black marker around the edge.

Then I took the piece I had trimmed off and die cut it in my cuttlebug with my triple scallop edgeabilities dies (Spellbinders), added some sponging along the edges with faded jeans and attached it along the bottom.  I added some more faux stitching and some dots on the scallops.

I layered my card with black and a tangerine tango base.

I added a crochet flower with a button and some leaves for embellishment.  Then I stamped the sentiment (Fundamental Phrases - SU) in jet black stazon and I was finished.

I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit.

Oh my goodness I love this one too! Love the sharp image of the flower against the mottled background. I want to go and try this for myself. I'll go and play now and stop stalking you, LOL.
