inspired by a cork placemat

Hello, my friends.  Today's card was made for the inspiration challenge on SCS and I used a cork placemat as my inspiration.

I created a background with distress inks (scattered straw & rusty hinge) on kraft card stock, using a crumbled up piece of plastic wrap.

Then I sponged black paint over a stencil (crafter's workshop).  I added details with a white gel pen.  A sentiment (Stampendous) finished the card.

The one thing really different about this card is that I did the design on the whole piece before folding it in half, so it extends right over the top to the back.  I forgot to take a picture of the whole piece.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Great card Melody. I love using crushed up plastic wrap to apply ink for a background, never two alike.
I like how the sentiment seems to flow with the design.
Thanks for the birthday wish you left me at SCS. I would have done a reply there, but couldn't figure out how.
Anyway, I'm glad I visited your blog, I have enjoyed looking at your Crative chemistry 101 projects.
