A Basic Friend

Hello. I hope you are all having a wonderful week.

Wednesday's card challenge on Splitcoast is a sketch. I decided to work around a piece of Basic Grey Stella Ruby paper that I had on my desk from another project. Pulling colors from the designer paper makes it easy to choose a color scheme. I chose river rock, always artichoke and black. The stamps are from the SU set True Friend.

The background is the flower sprig stamped randomly in river rock in on river rock card stock, and the sentiment is stamped on a smaller piece of the same color in basic black ink. I matted both the dp and the sentiment with black and artichoke. Above and below the sentiment, I added piercing, using my piercing tool and mat pack. I added mellow moss eyelets with my crop-a-dile along the left side of the dp and faux stitching around the edges of the card base. The sentiment is raised on mounting tape.

Recipe: Stamps - true friend (SU)
Card stock: river rock, always artichoke, basic black (SU), Stella Ruby dp (Basic Grey)
Ink: river rock & basic black (SU)
Accessories: mat pack, piercing tool, mellow moss eyelets, crop-a-dile, mounting tape.

Thanks for stopping by.
