a comfort quilt

Hello. Sorry about the lack of posts. I picked up one of those stuffy head colds and just haven't been doing a whole lot of anything. But since I still have to create for my classes, I pulled out a little bit of energy to make something. Yesterday's inspiration challenge helped in the process. I chose the dress in the middle picture.

I've been wanting to make one of these quilt cards using the top note die that I've seen on several blogs, so I pulled out some really old designer paper from one of the big stacks and punched 1-3/8" squares. I glued them to a piece of white card stock and then put it through my cuttlebug with the top note die.

Of course I had to add some quilting stitches. And to dress it up, I stamped the flower from my free SAB set Polka Dot Punches twice on the same dp and punched them out with the 5 petal flower punch. I added a brad to the center and popped it up.

The sentiment is from Close As a Memory, stamped on white and then I put just the ends into the curly label punch to get a similar shape as the top note. The edges are sponged with teal.

Thanks for stopping by.

I LOVE this Melody! What a wonderful way to showcase all the different patterns and colors on that beautiful designer paper.
