Hey, bloggers. Happy Monday. This morning I made a card for the technique challenge on SCS, which was a brick wall. There is a tutorial if you want to try it.
I started with a piece of Basic Gray paper (confused, I think) and dry brushed some acrylic paint (apple parchment) over it to change the texture and color. Then I stamped a stamp from ferns (SU) in black stazon. To form the bricks, I drew pencil lines 1/2" apart and then vertically 1" apart. After cutting them all apart, I sponged the edges with chocolate chip ink and glued them to a piece of chocolate chip cardstock. I added more sponging and randomly stamped my favorite itty bitty backgrounds stamp in chocolate chip for a more rugged feel. I layered this all on a piece of black cardstock.
Now here's where I ran into some trouble. I was going to put the twill on the left side, but when I glued it down, I accidently had the cardstock turned the wrong way and it ended up on the right side instead. I'm not happy with that, but at that point, I couldn't change it without doing the whole brickwork over -- nuh uh! NOT gonna happen! So, instead I stamped the sentiment on the left and added the brads. I know it looks OK, but to me, it just doesn't feel right this way. What do you think?
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonder-filled week.
