inspired olympics

Hey, everyone. Have you been watching the olympics. I only catch a glimpse now and then. The Mr. has it on, so when I walk through the room, sometimes it grabs my attention. But I'm just not one to sit and watch when there are other things I would rather be doing.

Today I worked on some more VSN challenges on SCS as well as taking a break and doing the inspiration challenge for today.

For the inspiration I chose the central sample shown.

I pulled out a couple of new Hero Arts stamps, lace background and lace flower cluster and embossed them in black on red cardstock. I used my eyelet border punch on the background and on some black to layer behind it. The other piece was cut out and popped up, with a red rhinestone in the center of the largest flower. I had originally stamped the sentiment directly onto the card, but it was crooked, so I had to make a small change there - just restamped it on scrap and punched it out. I sponged around the edge, so that another layer wasn't necessary. I had a hard time getting a good picture, because the embossing reflects the light from the flash.

I only completed four of the VSN challenges today, but hope to get a few more done tomorrow or Monday before the deadline. Here are the ones I did today.

The challenges were using a water element, scoring,
using gold, and faux metal, .

Thanks for stopping by.

OOOOO!! Great job Melody!! I think my favorite is the blue/white one with the birds.....although the creative one with the cattails catches my eye a bit too!!
