challenges

Hello my friends.  Sunday morning, after die cutting some rosettes with my Tim Holtz rosette die and trying to get them to hold together with glue (which worked, but not easily), I ran out to Walmart and bought a low-temp glue gun.  What a difference that made in putting together the rosettes.  The thing is, I'm sure I already own a hot glue gun, but haven't seen it in years.  It's probably still in a box from when we moved into this house.  And you know how it is; how to justify purchasing another of something you already have.  Well, let me tell you, it was worth the $3 for the glue gun plus the money for the glue sticks

Today (Monday) I stamped a card for a couple of challenges on SCS, something that I haven't done in awhile.  I used the clean and simple challenge (hearts) and the technique challenge (create stripes).  Since I needed a third card for my class this week, I also had to use my cuttlebug. 

I started by opening my card and cutting a heart in the front with a Spellbinders scalloped heart die.  stamped the butterfly (butterfly of happiness - SU) so that it would show through the heart.  Then I added 1/2" strips of Basic Grey ambrosia paper and sponged around the card edges as well as around the heart opening. 

The sentiment is from watercolor trio (SU) and was punched out with a large oval punch, sponged along the edge and attached with dimensional tape. 

The only other embellishment is three tiny dots of orange stickles.  A quick and easy card.
