hope you can cling to days 8 and 9

Hi friends.  Here are a couple more cards from the breast cancer awareness challenges on SCS.  For more information on these challenges, click here

Challenge ten -- It's a Cover-Up.  A card with a hidden message on a hinged or swinging panel.

I used a pocket watch image.  I created a hinge, so the watch opens to reveal the message inside, as shown in the second image.  Two different sentiment sets were used to create the message.

The background is print pattern (SU).  I traced around a large cover for the curve on the designer paper.  I used a stamp from itty bitty backgrounds (SU) to add the little dots.  Then I traced around the dp panel and the photo corner with a black marker and added faux stitching.

Challenge eleven --Strength of Steel.  A card using aluminum foil, recycled soda cans, home improvement flashing, or a metal embellishment.

I used aluminum foil.  First, I glued the foil to a piece of card stock and then embossed it with musical flourishes embossing folder.  Next, I used alcohol inks with a felt ink applicator to add color.  I die cut the foil, as well as black and ivory card stock with octagon dies and then die cut the maple leaf in both layers of the card stock, so the metal would show through the opening.

I added faux piercing with a black marker.  The sentiment is from wonderful words (SU), and the paper is from my stash.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
